| ART4FREEDOM meaning: |
My ART4FREEDOM is about the need to celebrate one of Kenya’s most recognized freedom fighter: Field Marshall Dedan Kimathi. He and other freedom fighters were mostly using rudimentary weapons in their fight against the British. However, the military skill and drive of their leaders, such as Kimathi, inspired many others to join in the fight that would eventually force the British to bow out of control. Therefore, Kimathi is depicted here as David with a slingshot in this artwork because he and his comrades achieved a feat that was just as great and remarkable. IAM4FREEDOM!
