| ART4FREEDOM meaning: |
My ART4FREEDOM is a contemporary subject that brings us together, paradoxically. Both futuristic and surreal, bringing a little poetry to the global health crisis that we are experiencing. I live in France, lost my freedom and we're in lockdown. In compensation, I think that the ability to create and share here is an excellent form of freedom and communication. Many messages can be conveyed through poetry, pictures and the senses.
The bubble around the Earth and house (a symbol of confinement), where a little girl is playing on the roof, as naively and innocently as possible. The fact that she plays on the roof, which is not trivial, is also to show that we are not only loosing freedom but also our bearings. The tree is one of the last symbols of a planet that is also suffering. This world is placed on a human heart, itself floating in a nebulous heap halfway between space vacuum and the human body (the fluid, an allegory of human mechanics in terms of biology, is important). As our world is threatened by a sprawling and deadly virus, there is a hope from a hero outside. Here, is a white antibody, taking the appearance of an astronaut from the future, vector of new saving technologies. Prophylactic measures necessarily come from research, therefore from the discovery of what is not yet acquired. Temporality, both short and distant, play an essential role in this spatio-temporal movement, through these viruses that have become giant and bathe in haemoglobin. IAM4FREEDOM! |
