For me the love for freedom, apart for growing up in a free country ;-), started when I first started using Free and Open Source software. Not only the freedom to use the software for free but also being free to change the software and being able to give something back to the creators and all users felt really good. For me, being able to contribute for/to the greater good, in what ever way, is an essential part of freedom for it enables yourself and others to be part of it. :-)
