Both an artistic and heroic deed with your time, talent and constant creativity.
Black Lives Matter!
My ART4FREEDOM is in support of the people out there protesting against the systemic racism in the police force. Police are killing people based on the color of their skin. This is something I've known for a long time now, but being white, it was never really front and centre in my mind like it is now. I'd always try to ignore it, for fear of rocking the boat. Even still, I'm not brave enough to go out and protest with everyone. But as creatives, we have the power to make a difference by spreading awareness of things people might not think about all the time.
George Floyd was murdered on May 25th, 2020. He was killed by a racist police officer who was holding his knee on Floyd's neck for over nine minutes. This brutal type of murder is nothing new; police have been killing since they were first deployed, and they've been getting off scot-free for just as long. While the Trump administration has reinstated the death penalty (an already controversial decision), police do not have the right to judge if people deserve it, and in bearing the burden of doing so, they are given too much power to abuse. Any system which leads to people getting away with murder and stops others from being free, needs to change. IAM4FREEDOM!
