My ART4FREEDOM is about being treated equally. I made this for a Pride project and inserted identities of my own that have effected my views on freedom--my disability, LGBT identity, and faith. Freedom to me, is freedom from constricting ideals of how and who I should be. Feeling embarrassed or ashamed of being disabled and having to self-advocate for accessibility is hard and tiring. The fatigue of anxiety, over what people think of me for being bisexual, is a burden, and I know, I wouldn't worry this way were I straight. The constant oppressive presence of those in my own religion judging me for understanding that there are things in society that hold me back because of my marginalized identity, is something I would like to be free from. In a perfect future, freedom is normalization, acceptance, understanding, and accommodation for those we may or may not know. IAM4FREEDOM!
