My ART4FREEDOM portray some of the LGBTQ + characters (and even some straight allies!), which appear in the stories we write or illustrate. Expressing identity, whether it is one's own or that of one's original characters, is extremely important and, we believe, this is at the basis of the concept of freedom itself: being able to be who you are, or imagine someone who is different from us and to free to be. In addition to being artists, we are writers and cartoonists, and it is extremely important for us to be free to insert any identity, any difference, into our stories: differences that are cultural, genetic, or linked to gender identity. The world is beautiful because it is varied and it is varied because it is free.
There are many ways to fight against the grey monotony that some would like to impose on us, one of these, and one of the most powerful, is entertainment: representation gives us joy, hope, escape. And maybe, one day, we will all be free to be what we really are, like in a fairy tale. IAM4FREEDOM!
